Artist Bio

Gavin Youngash is a multi-instrumentalist living and working in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Sḵwxw̱ ú7mesh, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations as a session musician, collaborator, and composer. His catalogue includes live performance and recording both locally and internationally with many notable Canadian artists including two-time Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA) winning soul, jazz and R&B singer Krystle Dos Santos, David Ward, Golden Future, award-winning Vancouver gospel-soul powerhouse Dawn Pemberton (WCMA’s Urban Recording of the Year 2015), and Boston-turned Vancouver-based RnB/Soul & Hip-Hop artist, Makadi (NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest Finalist 2019). Youngash plays bass/keys and composes for Vancouver synth-pop group Star Captains, he is a writer and guitarist with the West Coast post-rock noise outfit I Think I Saw You See Me and also plays guitar/composes for his own ensemble, The Gavin Youngash Trio and solo self-titled compositional project.
